Justification

Home / Index / Justification
  • Definition: Justification is the act of God by which He declares a sinner righteous based on faith in Jesus Christ. This righteousness is imputed to the believer, and it is not the result of works or personal merit.
  • Romans 3:28: « For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. »
  • Romans 5:1: « Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. »
  • Explanation: According to biblical doctrine, justification is an unmerited grace obtained solely through faith in Jesus Christ. It is distinct from sanctification, which is the process of becoming holy, whereas justification is an instantaneous legal declaration.
