  • Definition: The Transfiguration is the event where Jesus revealed His divine glory to Peter, James, and John on a mountain, thereby showing His true nature.
  • Matthew 17:1-2: « After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. »
  • 2 Peter 1:16-18: « For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. »
  • Explanation: The Transfiguration is a moment where Jesus’ divinity is revealed in a radiant way, foreshadowing His resurrection and return in glory. It strengthens the faith of the disciples in anticipation of His upcoming passion.
