  • Definition: Eschatology is the doctrine that deals with end-time events, including the return of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, the new creation, and the final fulfillment of the Kingdom of God. It includes the ultimate destiny of individuals and humanity as a whole.
  • Matthew 24:30-31: « Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven… They will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. »
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17: « For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout… and the dead in Christ will rise first. »
  • Revelation 21:1-4: « And I saw a new heaven and a new earth… God himself will be with them and will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death will be no more. »
  • Explanation: In evangelical theology, eschatology plays a crucial role in emphasizing the hope of future restoration, where God will complete His redemptive work through the return of Christ. It calls believers to live with an eternal perspective, actively awaiting the return of Christ, while remaining hopeful in the final redemption of all things.
