Incarnation

Home / Index / Incarnation
  • Definition: The Incarnation is the doctrine that God the Son became man in the person of Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man.
  • John 1:14: « The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. »
  • Philippians 2:6-7: « Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. »
  • Explanation: The Incarnation is at the heart of Christianity. It shows God’s humility in Christ, who took on human nature to accomplish redemption. It also emphasizes Christ’s perfect identification with humanity.
