  • Definition: The Gospel, or « good news, » is the central message of Christianity, announcing that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, salvation is offered to all who believe in Him.
  • Romans 1:16: « For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. »
  • 1 Corinthians 15:1-4: « Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you… that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. »
  • Explanation: The Gospel is at the heart of biblical Christian faith. It proclaims that righteousness, eternal life, and reconciliation with God are accessible through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and was raised for our justification.
